1. The Secretary of the Department along with his subordinates has to fulfill certain duties as laid down in the Government of Mizoram (Transaction of Business) Rules, 2014 and shall assist and carry out the instructions of the Minister-in-charge for disposal of business pertaining to the Department.
  2. To examine the proposals submitted by the ADCs to see that all prerequisites are fulfilled to be placed before the Governor for his decision.
  3. To issue orders under the direction of the Governor in various matters relating to the ADCs.
  4. To coordinate with the line Ministry and line Departments within the State in various matters relating to Minorities.
